Neices and Nephews.(First and Second!)
Just viewed my nieces new blog. Made me think about our family and how time goes right on movin' for us. It moves for us. Little Mickey and little Dianna, with their long dark hair. So pretty. With every niece and nephew I have so many memories. I remember that Dianna was so quiet. You'd have to look for her to be sure she was still in the house. That is, unless she would find the hairbrush on my mama's vanity! Then she would come to me, and I would brush her hair until the bristles and my arm were tired. She would have sat there in front of me on the floor forever. Didn't know then that I would hold these precious memories forever. I remember when we would be in the car with my brother Mac, and have to pull over so that Mickey could walk across the bridge. She was afraid to ride over a bridge in the car. Guess she outgrew that. Can't hardly see her getting out now and crossing the bridge, then whistling for the car.LOL. Little Kelly Joan nestled under her daddy's arm on the sofa. I was so amazed! My daddy never did that. I didn't know daddys did that! He called her his Tiger! So she is Tiger to me, just as Michelle is Mickey. (My brother's word's were gold to me, just as my daddy's were.) Gloria Jean, chasing butterflies in the yard one day, then dressed up in high heels and make-up the next. Cheryl Kay, jumping into a pile of my 45's on my bedroom floor,(breaking some) then making the statement, "They shouldn't have been all over the floor!" Or asking me at the supper table one night, "Karen, my mama's pretty. How come you're not!?" Oh my, You know I never did think I would love that little niece, but I do. I love her just as much as the others. So many others that I have not mentioned, but I have special memories with them too. I even have great nieces and nephews! Charley,(Charalana), Boo, Bo, Miah, on and on! I remember when I was babysitting Jeremiah(Miah) once, and I had put him down for a nap. Being worn out, and thinking it might comfort him, I laid down beside him. He was probably about 3 or 4 years old. I studied him as he lay there grimacing and chanting, then made the announcement, "Miah, You look just like a little Charlie!" (He looked like my daddy.) He looked up at me with his great big eyes, startled and worried, and answered, "My not Little Charlie, Aunt Karen! My Little Miah!" "Yes, I know you are, Miah. My mistake." Little Bonnie (Boo) would come to my house to help me with the housework. She would exhaust me looking for things that needed to be done! I will never forget that. My little housekeeper. Oh, I could go on, but would run out of cyber paper. I am just grateful for my nieces and nephews, and all the memories they have given me. I think I'll come back sometime and give the others equal time. It will have the roman numeral II after it.
